Day 10 (23.07.17) Sunday

Nimmy didn’t sleep well throughout the night but she still woke up few minutes before 7am. We all showered and had breakfast. Breakfast was brown honey beans and fried plantain with a cup of cappuccino for hubby and I. We joined Daystar online church and watched a lovely service with Rev Sam Adeyemi.

By 11am we all left the hotel room to catch a number 72 red bus to Szent Istvan to board a pink city tourist bus (hop on hop off). We had taken the green and red hop on and hop off buses on Saturday. The different colours on the bus signify the different routes in the city. We decided to take the pink bus and drop off at the harbor to board a tourist boat.

For two days now, when we get to Szent Istvan the bus we are supposed to board next would just be leaving and we would need to wait a long time to get another bus so we decided that the bus stop was not our favorite stop.

We eventually got to the boat just before 1pm. My hubby suggested we sit at the upper part of the boat. When we got there, it was pretty hot; the sun was high and biting. We immediately moved back to the lower decker, under the shade. Thank God there were still spaces. Now this was the best part of our sightseeing. The boat moved slowly and there was enough space for everyone to move around although most of the passengers sat down. Pemmy had mastered the use of telescope and camera phone; she was fully occupied during the one-hour boat tour. We sampled their iced cappuccino coffee and apple cider wine; very nice.

After the boat tour, we walked through the park to catch the next hop on hop off bus. After we stopped at a junction for a few minutes we decided that that was not the place we were supposed to wait for the next bus. We started walking about looking for the bus stop. Eventually we concluded we were not sure and kept walking around then suddenly we felt we were sure we had gotten the right bus stop.

After fifteen minutes of waiting for the bus, it finally arrived but it didn’t stop where we stood; it moved a long way afar and stopped. We started running towards the bus but before we reached the stop, the bus left. We were very disappointed but what could we do? By this time, I was pressed; I wanted to urinate. I left my family and crossed the road to look for a restroom. I entered the first supermarket and felt unsure of how they would react to my request so I left. I saw a Mc Donald shop further down the road so I ran towards it. I hurriedly looked for a restroom, by the time I got there I was told to pay 150 forints. Wow! I had no money on me. I hurried back to meet my family hoping another bus had not come and left. Luckily that didn’t happen. There was a restroom close to the bus stop. Can you imagine? After I running all the way and back without easing myself. Well, this time around, I took some money with me. When I got to the restroom the woman demanded 250 forints. I paid and ran to an available space. The entire restroom was spark clean and snow white. Worth the money paid but that was one expensive urine.

We finally got another bus after forty-five minutes of waiting. Boy! Where we glad to see a bus?! We sure knew it was time to go home.
